THE LATEST Zetor tractors, including the new Major range will be on its stand at next month’s Royal Highland Show.
“We will exhibit six models from our Major, Proxima and Forterra ranges and one of the stars of the show will be the Major HS, which was launched on the market at the beginning of the year,” said Rob Dunk, the national sales manager for the brand.
This is a compact and simple machine with a four-cylinder 2.9-litre engine and 76 hp power output. The gearbox has 24 forward gears and 12 reverse gears, a two-stage torque multiplier (PowerShift) and electro-hydraulic reverser (PowerShuttle), for a smooth change of direction even under load.
Aimed at the livestock and municipal sectors, it is intended for customers who want a bit of comfort allied to simplicity. The upgraded Proxima and Forterra series tractors will also feature at Ingliston.
The latest Proximas range from 80 to 120 hp and come with a range of gearbox variants, while the heavier duty Forterra series go from 100 to 150 hp.
Paying a bit extra to get the HD spec’ models is worth it, argued Mr Dunk, as it makes it an ideal alternative to six-cylinder tractors.
The HD variant has a robust body featuring a suspended front axle, plus cab suspension and multi-function control panel.
