TESTS at the world-renowned Nebraska testing station have confirmed that the Steiger wheeled-version of Case IH’s 620 Quadtrac, is the new world record tractor power record holder.

It recently became the highest drawbar power tractor in the world, with the independent Nebraska lab recording a 594.08 hp.

That also translated into efficient working, given that its maximum drawbar fuel efficiency figure was 242g/ kWh.

That takes into account both diesel and AdBlue use, translating into lower operating costs, said Case IH.

Its smaller stablemate, the 580, also made the grade, recording the second highest drawbar fuel economy figures ever recorded at the test centre.

This was 6.63% lower than the tested competition in its power class. It seems to be that proven SCR emissions technology, has allowed the Case IH/ Steiger engines to run cleaner and cooler for better fluid efficiency, including diesel fuel and AdBlue.Case pointed out that there is also no particulate filter to clean, no regeneration period and 600 operating hours between oil changes.

That means that downtime and servicing costs are also less than some of the competition at this end of the market. In both instances, the Steigers were compared against equivalent John Deere tractors at the Nebraska test centre.
