Scottish farmers got their first look at newly-released seed drill products from Sulky Burel at this week’s Royal Highland.

This newcomer includes a dual hopper for its range of Xeos pneumatic seed drills, a 3m Xeos Pro Evo seed drill, and a new design for its Xeos TF front hopper drill.

It also had an updated Cultiline power harrow with the RapidFit quick-release tine system a new fertiliser spreader configuration platform on its stand.

The dual hopper is available on its range of Xeos HD, PRO and TF pneumatic seed drills. This allows precision placement of slug pellets, or an additional seed alongside the main seed.

Rates of between 0.5 to 15kg/ha are possible via Sulky’s in-cab control console, which independently manages both hoppers.

The 3m Xeos is a powerful new seeding unit, but it is 400kg lighter than its predecessor and has a one-tonne hopper, making it suitable for use for tractors of at least 130hp.

Using the Cultiline XR disc cultivation tool, working speeds of 12-14km/h can be achieved in best conditions, while in heavier conditions, the Cultiline HR rotary harrow’s four rotors per metre is a better option.

Improvements to the Xeos TF injection system via a ‘special fertiliser performance kit’ have resulted in a 40% increase in pneumatic transport capacity.

Sulky’s RapidFit quick-release tine system for its range of power harrows is effected by a dual function spanner, with the tine holder designed to protect the ‘lock’ from wear and tear.

Also new is its fertiliser spreader configuration software. The My Fertitest online platform enables farmers to build a personalised database which saves settings and adjustments from all spreading jobs.

Machines are recorded in real configurations, and changes in the field can be annotated and saved, providing full traceability and ease of re-use.
