AN all-new powerful and versatile side by side UTV from Honda – Honda Pioneer 700 – is set to further strengthen the company’s line-up of ‘go anywhere’ utility vehicles, in which the farmer’s favourite TRX420 and TRX500 ATVs lead the charge.
Developed from the ground up as a pure utility vehicle, with the build quality for which every company product is revered, the all-new Pioneer is available as a two-seater (700-2) or flexible four-seater (700-4).
Built around the powerful 675-cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine and transmission seen on Honda’s range topping TRX680 ATV, this new machine is fitted with a three-speed automatic transmission which ensures true and reassuring engine braking across even the toughest terrain, according to a company spokesman.
Comfort and safety for the passenger is ensured with fully independent double wishbone front and rear suspension, delivering superior handling and smooth riding.
Its 386kg capacity tilt bed with a hydraulic assist strut makes light work of heavy lifting and easy unload, while the 680kg towing capacity means the Pioneer can take on many jobs, including heavier work that only tractors could carry out.

Versatility is one of the defining pillars at the heart of the Pioneer – demonstrated by the industry-exclusive QuickFlip® seating system on the 700-4 – allowing easy switching between one, two or three passengers or a full cargo bed, as well as a durable covering designed to withstand the elements and the frequent entry and exit of passengers.
In two-person mode, the rear seats flip down to create a completely flat load bed, which can assist in carrying materials and objects – and which can be easily popped back up in an instant when required.
Head of Honda (UK) power products, Steve Morris, commented: “The much-anticipated arrival of the Pioneer is finally here and we’re very much looking forward to putting it in front of customers for the first time.
“The new Pioneer opens up a whole new range of possibilities for utility users, perfectly complementing our ATV range and setting a new benchmark for side-by-sides.”
