TEDDERS of up to 10.8m working width are part of the updates included by Kuhn in its next generation range of GF 1012 series Gyrotedders.

This includes the 8.7m mounted GF 8712, and trailed GF 8712 T, as well as the 10.8m mounted GF 10812 and trailed GF 10812 T.

These have been designed for use on medium to large-scale farms, but are also suited to working in tight, awkwardly shaped fields thanks to their HLC rotor-lift system (standard equipment on the GF 8712 T, GF 10812 and GF 10812 T, and available as an option on the GF 8712).

This lifts all rotors to a height of 50cm in less than five seconds, making it easier to manoeuvre and operate the tedders, especially on tight headland turns. The fast-acting system also helps to reduce the risk of impurities being introduced into the forage.

All four have a patented stabilisation system between the headstock and the frame for better stability during work and road transport.

All use Kuhn’s Digidrive maintenance-free rotors, which are pivoting, small diameter rotors with asymmetrical tines for better ground contact and reduced soil contamination. Wheels close to the tines give better ground following and hydraulic adjustment for border tedding is also available as an option.

Kuhn has also added three new mounted, single rotor grass rakes to its range of hay and silage making equipment.

These share features from the company’s larger twin and four-rotor rakes and the GA 4431, GA 4731 and GA 5031 have been developed to work across 4.4m, 4.65m and 5m widths respectively.

With its 4m diameter rotor, this makes the GA 5031 the largest mounted single-rotor machine on the market.

They use the patented Masterdrive GIII system features on each of the new machines. This is a two-stage gearbox, with a reliable bevel and spur gear reduction system proven on twin and four-rotor rakes.

Changing from road to field mode is easy thanks to an ergonomic support arm and central locking design which makes changeovers quick and simple. Windrow deflectors and guards are operated manually or can be operated hydraulically as an option.

The headstock has a windrow clearance of more than 40 cm and excellent contour following capabilities, while raking height is adjustable via the use of a hand-operated crank handle.

Power requirement ranges from 30-40hp and prices start at £7883, plus VAT.
