Massey Ferguson aims to make its presence felt in the semi-compact telehandler sector with its new TH.7030 model.

Due to be launched at Agritechnica, in November 2017, this newcomer is capable of lifting 3 tonnes to 7m. There's a choice of two cab positions and this model complements the existing MF TH.6030, though it has a higher lift and a longer reach.

This additional semi-compact model has a high capacity, 100 litres/min load-sensing hydraulics, plus boom suspension. Power comes from a 100hp engine matched to a proven hydrostatic transmission.

Measuring just 2.1m wide and 2.1m high, this semi-compact also has four-wheel steer for better manoeuvrability in tight farm buildings.

A choice of cab positions improves its versatility. Fitting the same cab lower in the chassis reduces height by 150mm, providing better access to low buildings.

Its electro-hydraulic control allows up to three functions to be used at the same time and Massey Ferguson’s smart handling system (SHS) allows operators to set and adjust maximum flow, regardless of engine speed, for more precise boom movements.

The unique cushion retract system keeps things smooth too, as does the option of boom suspension option – a dual pressure system which absorbs shocks at the press of button.

It's engine is a 3.4 litre four-cylinder, 100hp engine, which uses straightforward technology to meet the strictest emission regulations.

With no need for a variable geometry turbocharger, diesel particulate filter (DPF), regeneration or exhaust gas recirculation, this maintenance-free system also has a fan inverter option to keep the air inlets clean, the engine cool and working at best efficiency. This can be automatic, dependant on air temperature or adjusted to work at pre-set time intervals.

This model has a unique, four-range hydrostatic transmission, with four speeds – two mechanical and two hydrostatic – with an inching pedal for precise loading.

An easy to use, creep speed system enables operators to set the forward speed independently of engine rpm. This gives best performance when using implements that require high flowrates, but slow and constant travel speeds.

A clever automatic parking brake offers extra safety, while the standard four-wheel steering has three selectable steering modes for working in confined spaces.

A spacious cab has easy to use controls plus a high quality, air suspension seat. Air conditioning is an option.

Operation of all boom functions is provided by a multi-function joystick, which also offers the option to control the transmission, shuttling between forward and reverse or to select neutral.

New LED working lights on the boom and machine provide plenty of illumination for night work.

A third hydraulic service is operated from the joystick and there’s an option to fit a fourth and fifth. There's a range of hitches to allow it to tow a trailer, with optional trailer braking.
