Service care from MF

A new 24/7 customer support helpline for service-related issues and a dedicated parts and service website has been launched by Massey Ferguson.

It has also expanded its technical service team to increase coverage across the UK and Ireland and implemented AGCO Tech Connect – a bespoke MF dealer technical support and case management system.

The support line enables end-users to speak to a MF service rep around-the-clock, 365 days a year. All calls are tracked and followed up to ensure enquiries have been dealt with to the customer’s satisfaction, said MF.

Milestone for JCB

JCB IS celebrating the production of half a million engines – enough to stretch from London to Paris.

Four cylinder diesel engines first began rolling off the line at JCB Power Systems in Derbyshire, in November, 2004, when the company employed just 64 people and produced 10,000. Now, the workforce stands at 400 and has produced its 500,000th motor.

JCB chairman, Lord Bamford, said: “There have been many great achievements at JCB over the years and engine manufacturing is a truly great success story. In 2004, we relied entirely on external suppliers for our engines. Today, JCB engines power more than 70% of the machines JCB makes and we sell it successfully to other manufacturers for a wide variety of uses."

The company recently invested £10m in the engine plant.

Award for McCormick

PUTTING a CVT transmission in its tractors has reaped reward for McCormick, which has been given a prestigious 'Tractor of the Year' the award at Agritechnica, in Germany.

Out of five short-listed finalists for the award, the 130hp McCormick X6.440 VT-Drive was judged the best entry in the category covering four-cylinder multi-purpose tractors of 70hp or more.

Apart from the compactness, manoeuvrability and overall build integrity of the McCormick X6.4, the judges highlighted its VT-Drive system as providing the advantages and benefits of a continuously variable transmission in a size of tractor commonly used on mixed enterprise farms, by dairy and other livestock farmers, and in horticulture.
