NEW tyre technology which hopes to be able to withstand higher loads, but also be kinder to the soil, was launched by Bridgestone at the recent LAMMA event.

Its VX tractor tyre range was designed and tested at Bridgestone’s European facility in Italy. It is made from robust casings with extra-deep and extra-long lugs, ensuring outstanding traction and extremely long wear life, said the company.

Developed for tractors of 100 hp and above, the VX-range comes in 38 and 42-inch rear sizes, plus 24 to 34-inch front wheel sizes.

Also on display was the new VT tyre which has been developed in partnership with New Holland and it was shown on the new T7 315 HD tractor. This has what Bridgestone calls 'very high flexion' technology, which allows tyres to operate at low pressure, due to its special tyre construction in combination with a revised tread design. This is up to 0.4 bar below tyres using standard technology.
