AN INTERESTING development from Manitou in its loader range is the MLA-T, which was launched at LAMMA in January.

Manitou said this is a tailored response to needs in areas such as feeding animals, shifting silage and bale handling. The central positioning and width of the cab is different from most other telehandlers and this configuration gives better visibility and added driver comfort.

It also has an overhead protection grid incorporated in the cab, which gives clear visibility of the load even at maximum height.

Also, access to it is improved with the possibility to enter either from the left or right hand side – which is handy in tight buildings. The user-friendly JSM joystick is also part of the equation as it is on a floating armrest within easy reach of the operator.

This version has a maximum capacity of 3.3 tonnes with a 5.2m lifting height courtesy. It also has Manitou's unique 2D central articulation and oscillating rear axle, for stability covering rough terrain.

Another key advantage is its manoeuvrability, with a sharp turning radius capable of performing a u-turn in cramped quarters.

Power is from a 143hp Deutz Tier 4 engine driving a Vario-Plus hydrostatic CVT transmission, which is ideal for loading cycles.
