KUHN Farm Machinery has unveiled its latest VB 3200 variable chamber baler range, which offers users increased capacity and bale density compared to previous models.

The new range, comprising the VB 3260 and VB 3290 models, replaces the VB 3100 series. Along with the enhanced capacity, the new models feature progressive density plus technology, enabling a 10% higher bale density.

Rhodri Jenkins, KUHN’s grassland product specialist, explains the target market for the new baler series: “We have incorporated proven concepts from the outgoing models into the new design, along with innovative features to improve output and bale quality. The range caters to customers seeking higher density bales and increased output across various crops throughout the season.”

Key features of the new baler range include a heavy crop roller with spring-loaded tines for improved pre-compression and crop flow, resulting in a 10% increase in overall baler efficiency compared to the previous generation. Additionally, a quicker tailgate ejects a bale in six seconds, further enhancing efficiency.

The progressive density plus system utilises pressure boost to achieve higher bale density in dry crops. Hydraulic cylinders and a spring tensioner increase resistance on the belts, while a belt tensioning arm provides an additional 10% when necessary. The baler can be operated via a tractor’s isobus terminal or through compatible isobus screens.

A reinforced driveline, including a stronger main drive chain, larger rotor drive chain, and additional reinforced bearings and seals for high-capacity rollers, enhances longevity. Users can choose between a non-cutting Optifeed rotor for consistent swath flow or a 14 or 23 knife Opticut rotor for precise chopping.

Both Optifeed and Opticut models benefit from an integral rotor, which improves throughput by reducing the distance between the rotor and pick-up tines. Standard features include the dropfloor, allowing hydraulic lowering of the floor and knives to clear blockages.

The 3260 and 3290 models are also available as baler-wrapper combination units, boasting increased tailgate speed for quicker bale transfer, automatic unloading of straw bales in pairs, and a hold-to-run button for satellite wrapper rotation.

Prices start at £51,820 RRP.
