SARAH HUNTER-ARGYLE has been appointed as the AHDB's new Scottish communications manager.

She joins AHDB from a communications role at the SRUC, and will be based in AHDB’s Edinburgh office, working with a seven-strong team across the organisation’s dairy, cereals, potato and horticulture sectors.

Her appointment comes as result of the feedback from AHDB’s levy payer meetings across Scotland earlier this year, where farmers and growers called for better communications with them and the wider industry about how they can benefit from the work AHDB does on their behalf.

AHDB’s Independent Board member, George Lyon, who led the activity review in Scotland, said: “Levy payers made it very clear that they wanted to know much more about AHDB activities and how they could make use of them.

“We have a wealth of knowledge and expertise from projects like our Monitor Farms, seed export programmes and the Scottish Dairy Hub and we need to ensure we communicate them effectively to Scottish farmers. Sarah’s role is to ensure that Scottish farmers are aware of the expertise and knowledge we have developed to help them make a success of their businesses."

Sarah herself commented: “There’s some fantastic AHDB work going on in Scotland, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to promote our activities and get more levy payers involved.”
