AGRICULTURAL recruitment consultant, JP Trett has confirmed sponsorship of Holstein UK's Holstein Young Breeders initiative.

"In order for dairy farming to succeed, there has to be a dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic wave of young farmers who are keen to take on farming through to the next generation," said Holstein UK.

"We recognise how crucial it is to encourage youth into the dairy industry. Through the HYB scheme, Holstein UK seeks out agricultural enthusiasts and provides a diverse range of skills based development activities to promote new and exciting opportunities to young farmers."

HYB already has a principal sponsor, Semex, and now JP Trett is recruited as one of its four associate sponsors.

Holstein UK's head of events Hannah Williams commented: “HUK is committed to the growth of Holstein Young Breeders to safeguard the future of our dairy industry. Dairy farming has moved leaps in terms of technological complexity and in order to succeed in the industry farmers must adopt a business mindset.

"The aim of HYB is to support and encourage the development of skilled, knowledgeable young business minded enthusiasts; these are the individuals who will see our industry flourish in years to come. The support from businesses like JP Trett enable us to explore new opportunities for our HYB members to ensure we are maximising their potential in every aspect, from on farm skills and herd management to entrepreneurial skills, business negotiating and strategy. We thank JP Trett for their generous support which helps us to invest in the future of dairy farming.”

Commenting on the sponsorship, Trett's livestock divisional manager Bertie Steggles said: “Having personally been a member of HYB in my youth, I am pleased to be able to now give something back to such a great organisation. The rest of our Recruitment Professionals have both first-hand experience and knowledge in their sector with relevant qualifications and training enabling them to be recruitment champions of their Industry."
