FARMERS can still apply for an interest free loan from the Scottish Government against their Basic Payment Support Scheme.
This was confirmed to The Scottish Farmer as it went to press by a government spokesman who said that it had received over 12,000 acceptance slips from farmers who are eligible for a loan from the £300mn set-aside by Cabinet Secretary, Fergus Ewing.
They added: “Slips are continuing to be returned and we encourage those who have not yet done so, to please send back their slips.”
It has also been revealed that there are in the region of 60 unresolved cases from 2015 support schemes, and Mr Ewing said work was continuing to progress the outstanding issues.
