IT WAS a busy day at the annual Stars of the Future show, held at United Auctions, Stirling, on Saturday, November 12, with a number of visitors and exhibitors in attendance for a fantastic show of beef cattle.
Neil Shand, chief executive of the British Simmental cattle society, claimed that the VIA system is better than the EUROP grading system - and thinks we need to give Trump a chance
With Trump having just taken over, I took the opportunity to speak to those in attendance about their thoughts on the big business man being elected as president of the US.
Sybil MacPherson, hill farmer and star of BBC 2's This Farming Life, claimed that the EUROP system will do for the time being, until a better system is introduced. She claimed that we can only wait and see what Mr Trump will do as president of the US
Keeping the topic focused on farming, I also asked people their thoughts on the EUROP grading system, which produced a variety of opinions.
Euan Pate, farmer and freelance journalist, said the US election produced a "poor choice" of candidates, and feels that Trump will create big changes in US farming
A number of people aired their opinions, including Neil Shand, chief executive of the British Simmental cattle society, Sybil MacPherson, hill farmer and star of BBC 2's This Farming Life, Euan Pate, farmer and freelance journalist, and farming legend, John Cameron.
