EMPLOYEES at the Scottish base of potato supplier, Branston have raised more than £8000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance.

Members of Branston’s Scottish team presented a cheque for £4310 to each charity, received by Isla Dewar on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support and Fiona Dennis from SCAA.

Abernethy site general manager Kevin Imrie said: “I am incredibly proud of our team for giving their time and effort so generously to fundraise for these local and very worthwhile charities. They have all made an outstanding contribution to the fundraising efforts here, either by organising and taking part in an event, or supporting colleagues by donating to their events, which is testament to the final amount we have raised.

“We would also like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to our suppliers who have offered fantastic support to our fundraising events. We look forward to announcing our chosen charities for the upcoming year,” he added.

Ms Dewar commented: “It is a fantastic amount raised that will help us provide help to more people affected by cancer. We extend our sincerest thanks and congratulations to the charity committee, the wider Branston team and all their supporters.”

Ms Dennis added: “We are very grateful for all the time and effort everyone has put in to raise such a fantastic amount for the two charities in such a short space of time. We rely 100% on donations to run our life-saving service, and every penny we receive makes a difference.”
