MEMBERS of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland have been informed that they will receive their members packs for the Royal Highland Show by the end of this week, if they have not already done so.

However, this means that members who wish to swap their badge for livestock bands will not have time to do so before the show, and therefore they have been advised to send this back before the show, and told that they will be able to collect the livestock bands at the showground upon their arrival.

The Royal Highland Show Department put a statement on Facebook explaining the situation: "Ladies and gentlemen, please be assured that everyone in the membership, livestock and competitions departments will do their utmost to help those of you caught up in the delayed delivery of the members packs.

"This is an issue that is to be laid solely at the door of the mailing house given the task of the membership mailing and as such it is out of our hands," insisted the RHASS. "Please understand that this is as frustrating and upsetting for us as it is for you, or indeed more so, as we hate not being able to give a good service to our members, or to let our exhibitors down in any way.

"In short, once you get your pack, send your badges back to us immediately – we will put four day-bands, and a new badge, into an envelope which you can collect from our livestock office on the first floor of the cattle hall when you arrive with cattle, sheep or heavy horses.

"For those with light horses, your envelopes will be with our lorry park/stable manager, and you will be able to get this from his Portakabin as you arrive."
