SCOTLAND’S BARLEY harvest got underway this week in Dumfries and Galloway – though the grain was for crimping and treating as a feed source. The grain came through the combine at 32% moisture and the yield averaged four tonnes per acre on Alistair Martin’s High Town of Craigs Farm, near Dumfries on Monday.
