ANYONE looking for a pre-harvest night out need look no further as Perthshire's stand-up farmer, Jim Smith, has lined up another comedy gig at The Stand, in Glasgow.

It's been a busy few years for Jim, who farms at Stralochy, near Caputh, as his stand-up career has taken off, seeing him reach the finals of the Scottish Comedian of the Year and So Your Think You're Funny? competitions.

With his range of regional accents, characters, puns and impressions based on living and farming in rural Scotland, Jim enjoyed a sold-out stint at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his 'Farmed and dangerous' show.

His new set, 'North country boy', will be at The Stand, on Woodlands Road, Glasgow, on Monday, August 7. It's set to be a busy night, with many past and present friends and Young Farmers in attendance, so best to book tickets by calling The Stand on 0141 212 3389 or visiting the website at www.thestand.co.uk.
