BOUGHT FROM the same home in Sutherland as part of a batch of 600, the Lairg North Country Cheviot ewe lambs that wore these tags habitually socialised and grazed together, as sheep often do when they have common roots – sadly they were still together when they were found lying side by side on a hilltop at Fintray, which was the wrong place for them to be during last Thursday's spectacular lightning storm. Aside from these unfortunate friends, farmer (and Scottish NSA chairman) John Fyall, reported that his gimmers have come through looking very well, and 380 of them will soon go back to Lairg, alongside 150 Mules and 100 Texel crosses to sell.
