IT was a good day for the Wilson family when Beltex cross rams from their flock at Wood Farm, Thursby, secured the champion and reserve tickets before selling for the top two prices at an evening show and sale of rams at Wigton.
This second evening sale was hailed a success due to the quality show of rams and crammed ringside of prospective buyers, when ensured a strong demand and trade throughout.
Heading up the non-MV accredited section, was the champion, as selected by Ed Fawcett, Northumberland. It made £1800 to Mr Davies, Garthbrengy, Wales.
The reserve ram stayed local selling to Messrs Harrison for £1400.
Dutch Texel shearlings from Giles Pyman, Park View, Stainton, led the accredited section as the reserve made £1100 and the champion was knocked down to for £900. Both sold to Messrs Dean, Brampton.
