AMONG THE new rural characters that will be introduced by the second series of 'This Farming Life' – which starts tonight on BBC2 – are crofters Robin and Penny Calvert, of Rogart, Sutherland.
Way up in the Highlands, the Calvert’s croft provides most of their food and fuel needs, as well as supplying a bespoke hand butchery business.
Twenty-five years after bringing the run-down property back to life, they have both turned 60 and 61 respectively, old age and illness are looming and their future on the croft is uncertain...
