A LARGE ringside of buyers was present at C and D Auction Marts’ second sale of Scotch Mule ewe lambs at Dumfries, where lambs were generally smaller on the year and, as a result, averages dropped by £6.06 to level at £85 for 2451.
They sold to £106 from Merkland followed at £105 from Lightshaw. 
Blackface ewe lambs (680) met a steady demand to average £49.07, a rise of 20p, having peaked at £65 from Sweetshawhead. 
Texels from Kirkbog topped the other sections when gimmers sold for £156 and ewe lambs realised £118. 
Store lambs met increased competition, selling to £65 for Texels from Capelfoot.
