All types of North of England Mule ewe lambs sold well at Penrith and District Farmers’ annual show and sale at Penrith, where the catalogued entry of 9000 head sold to a top price of £340 per head to average £91.50.
Leading the trade was the champion pen of 10 from Messrs Lord, West Dowgill, purchased by Messrs Winter Bros, Clickham.
The reserve champion pen from GA and DE Thompson, Howburn, came under the hammer for £195 selling to A Geary, Yew Tree Farm. Howburn’s run of 120, levelled at £115.82.
