First Milk’s communications director Paul Flanagan leaves the co-op this weekend.
He told The Scottish Farmer: "It is with mixed feelings that I leave First Milk. I will miss the staff here and the farmers and the many people that have helped me across the industry.
“However, I am conscious that 11 years is a long time to be in one place and am really looking forward to using the experience I have gained to do something different.
“I have seen quite a few changes since I joined the business in 2006 – with most of those captured in the pages of The Scottish Farmer!" he added. "I’ve had some nice phone calls over the last few days thanking me for the work I’ve done and many of those people will remain life-long friends.
“I fully support the changes that chief executive Shelagh Hancock is making. Milk price is king for every farmer co-op and if we can improve returns to members by our sites being more productive or by operating with a slimmed-down executive team, then that has to be the way to go."
