HILL FARMERS have been reminded that the deadline for applications to the Scottish Upland Sheep Support Scheme is Thursday November 30.

The scheme offers additional support, on top of the Basic Payment Scheme, to sheep producers who farm in Scotland's rough grazing areas, based upon the number of young females retained for breeding.

Issuing the reminder, ScotGov stressed that using its online service is the 'easiest and quickest' way to submit a claim, because it helped to catch application mistakes early and reduced the administrative costs of the scheme.

"Even if you have no access to the internet, you may be able to make use of computers in your local area office," said SGRPID. "Please look at our Rural Payments and Services website for more information on this and our full scheme guidance."
