POLICE in Forres are appealing for information following a fire on an estate near Forres, which resulted in the destruction of a bird hide.
Sometime over the weekend between Saturday, January 13, and Monday, January 15, a fire occurred at the Chapelton Farm Wetland and Wildlife Hide, resulting in the hide being completely destroyed.
Local Investigating Officer, PC Sean Wood, said: "The damage caused by fire to the wooden bird hide has, understandably, caused much sadness and disappointment to members of the community here in Forres, and I would urge anyone who may have knowledge of the circumstances of when and how the fire came to be started, to come forward with any information."
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0926 of January 15, or to remain anonymous, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
