THESE LAMBS were lucky to have a little shelter from the late snowfall in this picture taken by Jemma Forest at Hillend Farm, Roberton, in the Scottish Borders, during last week's snowfall.
"Like everywhere else it was pandemonium in this area," said Jemma. "Fortunate for us we never lost any over that bad two day period but the shed was mobbed and we took square straw bales out to help shelter ewes and lambs in fields.
"Usually when we have taken bales out in previous years they never used them, but this time they certainly did. Unfortunately, a lot of farmers in the area they weren’t quite as lucky when it came to dead lambs over that period."
