Women in Agriculture's spring event in Perthshire has been hailed as a 'fantastic' success.

Around 80 delegates attended 'Business Planning – Future-proofing Your Business' at the Battleby Conference Centre, where Heather Wildman, managing director of Saviour Associates, was among the speakers.

The other speakers were Karen Wilson from Johnston Carmichael, who provided top tips on preparing and understanding year-end accounts; Susan Drummond from the Royal Bank of Scotland and Gerry Grant from the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, who gave a presentation on understanding fraud; while there was also business advice from Russell Pinkerton and Craig Dickson from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Chair of Women in Agriculture, June Geyer, said: “It was fantastic to see so many women come along to this event. Our presentations provided a range of practical advice as well as inspirational words for women working in Scottish agriculture. The event was also an excellent networking opportunity which saw more women signing up to our very successful mentoring programme. The feedback has been excellent and we’re already looking forward to our next event.”

Women in Agriculture is run by a collective of organisations – RHASS, the Royal Bank of Scotland, SAOS, SAYFC, RSABI, Scotland’s Rural College, NFUS, Savills and Women’s Enterprise Scotland. The group’s next event will be held in Edinburgh on Tuesday November 6.
