THE British Limousin Cattle Society has informed its members that they are investigating a number of matters arising out of the records provided to it relating to the Ballinloan herd.

The herd made headlines earlier in the year after questions were raised over the dam of the 24,000gns bull Ballinloan Jaegerbomb.

The society have explained that their investigation is with a view to instigating disciplinary proceedings in relation to a number of potentially incorrect statements relating to cattle and their offspring.

They state that, any disciplinary proceedings will, for the moment, be delayed due to investigations being carried out by the statutory authorities arising out of potentially incorrect records relating to the herd, and that in dealing with this matter the British Limousin Cattle Society have, and are, taking legal advice.

When contacted by The Scottish Farmer, Stuart Fotheringham of the Ballinloan herd, from Dunkeld, declined to comment.
