Members of the European Parliament last week decided on thousands of amendments to the reform package – but none so celebrated as the one they backed to remove the link between sheep EID and farm support penalties.
Now Scottish farmers must keep their fingers crossed that this game-changing amendment survives commission scrutiny and that a wider vote in the European Parliament doesn't yet throw a spanner in the works.
