Is farming drowning?

ATROCIOUS WEATHER, a horrendous harvest and spiralling feed prices have left many Scottish farmers in a financial quagmire.

Such is the seriousness of the situation, NFU Scotland this week urged all its members to take five minutes to help build a detailed picture of the effects that summer 2012's weather has had on the nation's farms.

The information will be used to consider ways of helping farm businesses cope with increasingly unpredictable and volatile weather systems and market conditions.
