Fife dairy farmer, John Adam, has died at the age of 84.
Born at Scotston of Usan, near Montrose, John later moved with his family to Kinshaldy, Leuchars, and then to Thistleford, in Cowdenbeath.
He left school at 14 to work on the farm and joined West Fife YFC, which he chaired for a spell. John’s main interests included stockjudging and the seed and root show.
It was through the Young Farmers that he met Kay and the couple were married in Burntisland Parish Church in 1964.
They started their married life at Earlseat, on the Wemyss Estate and moved to Tullybreck in 1969, where they stayed until 1992, when they left for South Glassmount, near Kinghorn.
John, who worked on the farm until weeks before his death, was a keen gardener and loved dancing.
He is survived by wife Kay, children John, Katherine and Heather and his grandchildren.
