ENVIRONMENT MINISTER Roseanna Cunningham was on the campaign trail this week, visiting an organic farm at Tibbermore, near Perth, in the company of Annabelle Ewing, the SNP General Election candidate for Ochil and South Perthshire.

The SNP has made no secret of its fondness for organic principles – and its opposition to biotechnology – and Ms Cunningham restated that position, signalling that food will be very much part of the party’s Election campaign.

“I am a big fan of organic produce and being able to buy direct from a local farmer,” she said.. “It is good for the environment, it is good for the farmer and it is good for the consumer.”
