Ross, Nairn and Inverness (RNI) district of Young Farmers hosted the 2010 Highland Rally, which attracted approximately 100 participants last weekend.

Winner of the Hamilton Auction Mart Trophy – awarded annually to the highest placed club – was Nairn JAC, with 95 points. Second place was Inver Ross with 85 points, and third was Forss with 52.5 points.

The industrial section was also won by Nairn JAC, with Ross Sutherland in second, while third place went to Inver Ross YFC. Nairn also led the way in the sports section, with Halkirk in second and Inver Ross in third.

A total of 33 teams took part in the stockjudging competition. The first placed team was Inver Ross C’s Stuart Grant, Donald Fraser and John Callum, who finished ahead of Forss B, including Jamie MacDonald, Ashley MacKay and Michael Sutherland. In third were Nairn D’s Lynn McArthur, Hazel Forbes and Ailsa Fraser. The best individual was James Sinclair of Bower with 295 points, with Michael Sutherland of Forss in second with 276 points, followed closely in third place by Andrew Sutherland of Ross Sutherland with 271 points.
