FIVE teams took to the stage at the recent West Region drama festival held at the Stewarton Area Centre, where Mrs Anne Allan was adjudicating.
Coming out on top was Avondale YFC with the play 'Melody', which was written by Deirdre Kinahan and produced by Andrew Muirhead.
In close second was the team from East Kilbride YF, with 'Codename: Gulag', written and produced by Isabella C Rae, while Crossroads YFC finished in third with another by Ms Rae, 'Happy deathday', but this time produced by Scott Watson.
A number of individual prizes were awarded - Crossroads' Scott Watson was best actor and Hazel Watt, from East Kilbride, was best actress, while Kilmaurs YFC's Zoe Wilson was the best first time performer. Stuart Rankin, from SSS YFC, was the most promising actor and Avondale's Gayle Allan the most promising actress.
