THE audience was certainly entertained as the first of the competitions got underway at the Eight Elgin Hotel, on the Friday evening, when seven clubs battled it out at the one-off 'YF got talent'.

With acts ranging from solo singers to dance routines and a lip sync' battle, it was an eight-strong group of girls from Carluke YFC that picked up first place. The club's Mhairi Lake, Fiona Parkin, Rebecca Brown, Heather Bankier, Evanna Carlin, Laura Hunter, Rachel Brodie and Joanna Jackson danced their way to the top with an exciting routine to a song medley.

Judges Iain Brown, Mrs Elaine Simpson, Mrs Alison Hunter and Mrs Katherine Munro all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and awarded second place to Crossroads YFC's Scott Watson and Craig McWhirter for their comedy song, while third place went to Callander YFC's Kirsten McAllister, Kirsty Wright and Kirsty Findlay, with a glow-in-the-dark dance routine.
