IT was something of a double whammy for the Fife and Kinross district when the gents and ladies teams both headed up the East Region tug-o-war eliminations at Central and West Fife Show.
Of the six gents teams, Fife and Kinross’ blue team was up against the Bathgate JAC team in the final but took the edge while finishing in third place was Brechin YFC.
The blue and red teams from Fife and Kinross then went head to head in the ladies’ final, but it was the blue team that came out on top with Strathmore JAC in third.
The top three in each section will now got forward to compete for the National title at the Royal Highland Show.
Also held at Central and West Fife Show was the Ready, Steady, Countr Cooks competition where Forfar JAC’s Claire Henderson and Jill Mitchell were awarded the top spot by judges, Mrs Sheena Lamont and Mrs Helen Forbes, and will compete against the West Region at the Highland.
Second here was Brechin YFC’s A team with Peebleshire JAC in third.
