WITH more than 400 tickets sold, there was a near sell-out crowd at the recent Angus Tayside cabaret at the Webster Theatre, Arbroath.
Following the two opening acts – 14-year-old piper Glenn Kelly and singer Tasmin Glass – the three teams took to the stage to compete for the district trophy before Ewan Penny and Ally Marshall, of the Perthshire district, and Glenn Jackson, from Brechin YFC, closed the evening with respective comedy sketch and songs.
Taking the top spot with ‘FYF News’ was Forfar JAC, while Strathmore JAC’s rendition of ‘This Farming Life’ finished in second and Brechin YFC’s ‘Moonshine on Brechin’ finished third. Taking the title of best act outwith the winning team was Robin Norrie, of Brechin YFC.
All three clubs will now compete at the East Region Cabaret, at Perth Concert Hall, on February 4.
