THERE was a strong entry of six teams at SAYFC’s Highland Region Ready Steady Country Cooks competitions which was held at Fortrose Academy at the weekend. 

Mrs Margaret Brims and Mrs Eva Swanson had the tough job judging the dishes in front of them but awarded the top ticket to Halkirk YFC’s ‘A’ team of Nicolle Cameron and Vicki Dunnet, who secured 89 points and a place in the semi-finals at the Royal Highland Show.

oming in second place with 84 points was the brother and sister duo from Forss YFC, Michael and Laura Dunn. And, Halkirk’s ‘B’ team of Annie Mills and Amy Robertson finished third with 76 points.
