MEMBERS of Bower YFC made it four from four as they helped the club scoop its fourth win in a row at the Highland Rally, hosted this year by the Ross-shire, Inverness-shire and Nairn-sire districts at the Black Isle show ground, Muir of Ord.

The rally welcomes members from the clubs within the Highlands and sees them compete in many different competitions offering plenty of opportunities for the members and also a great networking openings for them all.

The Bower club streaked ahead to win the overall trophy with 90 points on the board having topped the majority of the competitions and some 40 points ahead of Ross Sutherland YFC and Inver Ross YFC which shared second place.

Adding to the club's tally, Bower won most points in the baking and industrial sections, as well as team, individual and ladies' stockjudging competitions.

Inver Ross YFC headed up the practical section, which included digger driving, identification, milking a cow, erecting an electric fence as well as loading and unloading a trailer with tattie boxes.

Basking in sunshine, the afternoon's sports section saw Inver Ross also head up the gents' five-a-side football competition with Bower leading the ladies teams as well as the bucking bronco to land the most points in the sports section.

North Region chairman, Michael Gunn, summed up the day by saying: “A big well done to Bower YFC for winning the Highland Rally 2018. It was great to see seven clubs within the inclusive membership of Highland Region taking part.
