A TOTAL of seven teams from the Highland Region put their skills to the test at the Ready Steady Country Cooks competition held at Thurso High School, Thurso, where they were given one hour to cook dishes using a bag of unknown ingredients.
Judges Wilma Swanson and Grace Campbell scored the teams based on all aspects of the finished dishes, including hygiene, technical skill and team work.
Winners Beth Douglas and Jamiee Lyon, from Bower YFC, who scored 86 points, will go on to represent the Highland Region at the Royal Highland Show, cooking on their fellow regional winners
In second place were Gemma Duguid and Katie Dunnett, also from Bower YFC, with 85 points, while in third were Amy Main and Gareth Watt, from Latheron YFC, with 80 points.
