READERS of a certain vintage will remember when farm livestock, particularly cattle, were often transported by train!
Well commuters in Uckfield, East Sussex, could have been forgiven for thinking that the clock had been turned back recently when a herd of cows joined them on the platform.
One passenger with farming connections was heard to comment that he was surprised. Cattle, he mused, travelled much more comfortably these days than rail travellers!
