SIR, – Has your Euro Notebook journalist Richard Wright been in the UK recently or is he so entrenched in the politics of Europe that he has no time to research his peace, to quote his article in the SF of November 18 – “the conservatives are now an entirely urban party.”

Perhaps he gleans his facts from his weal thumbed daily issue of The Guardian that he is so keen on quoting.

I will not show him up by listing the rural and shire counties in the UK held by the conservatives suffice to say it is the large majority of them and that I live in one.

Perhaps his friends should band together and buy him a political map of the UK for Christmas. He could stick it on his office wall to remind him that it is a journalists job to get facts correct.

The problem of course is, that once journalists start printing erroneous facts to justify there opinion piece, it becomes hard for us to believe any of the facts he prints, so we skip there articles labelling them nonsense.Which of course, Richard's normally are not.

I voted to remain in Europe believing at the time that if David Cameron couldn't get a decent deal in friendly negotiations, there was no way a divorce was going to be amicable.

I am however, a believer in democracy and as such, have to accept we are leaving Europe.

As it is impossible to negotiate with the thick brick wall that is Europe, we should probably just prepare for a so called hard Brexit.

I have great faith in the ability of the young farmers in this country to adapt to what ever is thrown at them. You just have to read the articles in The SF to see how adaptable they are.
