THE NEWS that Inverness-shire's John Junor recently tied the knot with a handsome bride, has brought back memories of antics past.
Always the perfectly dressed Highland 'chentleman' (as Para Handy would say), John had ordered a hand-made kilt from Morag MacCorquodale, of Achnaba, North Connel, way back when.
He duly arrived some weeks later for a fitting, with a driver it has to be said, for some stops had been made for refreshment on the way south.
With a memory that the farm name began with 'A', they duly turned up at Ardachy, which is near Achnaba. The bold John then waltzed into the kitchen of the farm hoose and did a Highland fling around the kitchen table.
This was much to the bemusement of the equally refreshed, but sleeping Malcolm MacDonald, the late manager at the estate there.
It was several minutes before the confusion abated, not doubt assisted by a dram!
