BBC Radio 4’s popular Archers character, Tom Archer, is being awarded a prestigious Nuffield Farming scholarship.
Tom applied for the scholarship just before the application deadline of July 31 and, more recently, he attended a challenging interview with members of the Nuffield board.
His passion and knowledge of the farming industry shone through in the interview which led to his selection.
Tom will follow the same path as the 19 new Nuffield Scholars, who were recently announced. Tom will receive a grant of £12,000 to complete his study which will include at least eight weeks of international travel.
After officially receiving his Scholarship at the Nuffield Conference, this November, Tom will begin his 18 months of study, around the topic of organic baby food production, in the New Year, and following the submission of a written report, will present his findings at the 2018 Nuffield Conference!
