SIR, – EU competition rules demanded the end of the MMB. Since 1994, the oligopolist multiple retailers have exploited the market and crippled dairy farming. Logically, one would expect all dairy farmers to vote to leave!
More importantly, 400 years ago we had serious ‘troubles’ because a stubborn king believed in his divine rights. Now, we have ‘troubles’ brewing in Europe because of a stubborn, unreformed EU.
This referendum is about the resurrection of our parliamentary democracy to which we owe our freedom and our wish to be spared the very serious migration and euro troubles brewing in Europe.
Turkeys do not vote for Christmas; we should vote to leave an unreformed Europe or risk getting roasted in troubles not of our own making.
A leave vote will also precipitate serious reform in Europe, to the benefit of all Europeans. It will be a valuable catalyst for change.
