SO, the Lynx Trust has decided that Kielder Forest is where lynx should be re-introduced as a first step. It is a great pity that no one saw fit to mention this fact to the Scottish Government.
It is now beyond time that governments ceased pandering to this trust’s aims. And, as for farming industry organisations, they all have to say, unequivocally, a great big ‘no’!
Because, as sure as night follows day, lynx will be followed by wolves, and even bears!
Surely officialdom has learnt the lesson from the sea eagle debacle and won’t be stupid enough to repeat it! Or will they?
