SIR, – When Cameron was humming returning to Number 10, I would speculate that he was humming ‘Mad dogs and Englishmen go out ...!’
Yet there seems to be mad dogs in Scotland as well as a lot in our neck of the woods voted for Brexit, and all are in the high payroll of the EU. For the life of me, I cannot fathom why, as a lot of wives and offspring are working in jobs funded by EU support.
How on earth are they going to negotiate any deal when they have kicked the other side in the teeth? They are not in any position. The only hope is that the rest of Europe will offer charity. Germany and France have stated 'no deal' unless the movement of people are agreed.

As Germany has swelled its population, will it want its UK-based industry back?
Farming is totally reliant on Europe as most of the tools used are manufactured in Europe –tractors, combines, balers, mowers, trucks, spreaders, milking machines etc. We the Great British don’t get our hands dirty any more – we pay our youngsters to watch telly all day!
Has the time arrived that someone to say: 'Jackets off!'
