SIR, – I applaud Mrs Macleod for the excellent letter making us aware of the value scriptures should have in our time!
One of the most important teaching: "Thou shall not bear false witness" is probably the cause of the beginning of the Christian faith; Jesus was condemned by false witness.
Even today, we see the destruction that false witness can have on local society and World society; the press is a major contributor to this failing!
Another warning that can be attributed to our times is the warning: "Writing on the wall": translated number, number, weight, division; this one applies to most political parties.
I reckon the Scottish Government should take heed as it will be recorded in history as one of the strangest governments to run a country – and the most dictatorial!
