AS if the Rural Affairs department didn't have enough fires to fight on various fronts, the blue touch paper has now been lit as up to eight tenants caught up in the 2003 botched legislation have signalled their intention to sue.
Their claims for compensation have been simmering in the background for some years. It is morally - and possibly now legally - incumbent on ScotGov to sort this out.
From the tenants' point of view, this should be sorted as quickly as possible. ScotGov, however, could prefer its Land Reform Bill and May's Scottish elections take precedence.
